Amethyst Star of Glass

Each piece begins as a small gather of molten glass, shaped and colored by hand. The gaffer forms the first bubble, and the piece is hand-shaped and reheated repeatedly using traditional tools to refine its form. Additional glass may be added for feet, handles, or decorative details. After completion, each piece is slowly annealed in a 950°F oven to prevent fractures and ensure durability. With no paints used, the glass can be cleaned safely with any glass cleaner and soft towel.
