Blue Tablet Vase

Thin strips of colored clay were carefully adhered to the dark clay base with slip. After the first firing came the clear satin glaze, highlighting the natural variations within the blue brickwork pattern. It is a solid and stable shape, intended to support vertical flowering branches for ikebana.
