Dark Green Ikebana

Wheel-thrown ceramic functional sculpture, cut and altered to make a spiral-patterned functional vase. The exterior has a glossy dark green cone 6 glaze. This low, wide shape is inspired by Ikebana, the art of flower arranging. Many Japan-influenced potters have adopted the name of the art form for the pot itself.
