Falling Leaves II
Imagine a light breeze swirling leaves around and around; every once in a while, a form emerges from the chaos.
This large vessel was thrown on the wheel using stoneware clay. Two pieces were thrown and joined together to create this form. A pattern was carved in a "leaf" motif, and then the spaces in between were cut away from the wall. The leaf pot was covered in a green celadon glaze and fired to cone 10 in a gas reduction kiln.
