Hudson Heartbeat

Inspired by the Hudson River watershed—an important source of water throughout New York—this abstracted map utilizes shades of red fabric to depict its waterways as blood vessels, bringing water, life and oxygen to the surrounding lands. Improvisationally-pieced, it displays a matchstick quilt and is ready to hang.
