Harvest Graal Bowl

Harvest Graal Bowl

Handblown vase inspired by Scandinavian glassblowing techniques. Graal is a type of decorative glass developed by Simon Gate at Orrefors of Sweden in 1916. The design is carved on a colored glass starter bubble, which is then reheated and cased in a thick layer of transparent glass of a different color, and inflated. Making art glass in this technique spans a week or two.

There are only a few Graal pieces created in the studio throughout the year, and AO Glass has decided to make these pieces available through Artful Home. The Harvest Bowl is fully decorated with leaf-like patterns illustrated in the glass starter bubble. Signed on the bottom by Rich Arentzen as a symbol of authenticity and limited production.
