Indigo & Gold Large Archival Vessel
Handblown decorative lidded vessel. This rare piece from the artist's personal collection is one of the last remaining prototypes for a popular gold-leaf 'inlay' series created in the mid-to-late 1990s and exhibited at Smithsonian Craft Show, American Craft Councils shows, and many others. Inspired by historical 'cameo' techniques, this style is created by deep sandblasting a meticulously carved pattern into the surface, then applying gold leaf, and sealing with lacquer. Signed and dated 1997. This piece was shown numerous times and has a few extremely small marks on the base, near the signature, from removing display labels that dulled the shiny surface. Priced accordingly.
