Koi and Blue Bars
The artist creates organic images, invented patterns, and simulated textures with her digital camera and computers. Her designs are printed onto organic cotton fabric using large-format ink-jet printers. The fabric is cut and machine pieced together into intuitively constructed compositions. She then hand quilts the work using cotton batting and silk thread.
A piece of industrial velcro is sewn to the top of the back of the quilt. A corresponding piece of velcro accompanies the work and can be nailed to the wall with small nails.
