The blossom-like shade of this table lamp is shaped entirely by hand: copper foil heated until glowing red, then crushed and formed, its mottled finish refined torch-stroke by torch-stroke. The sculpted wood base is layered with cherry and ebony stains and finished with wax, and an inline full-range dimmer lets you set the mood. The shade lifts away easily when it's time to change the bulb.
