The Blue Hour

To create this sculpture's mottled, painterly surface, the artist buried the copper panel in damp wood chips for ten days, letting chemistry and restricted oxygen produce an abstract landscape of brown, black, blue, and green. One viewer might see a fiery sunset; another, city lights or waves washing a shore. The panel is sealed in protective lacquer and set in a slim black aluminum frame that keeps the focus on the metal itself. Ready to hang and signed on the back.
