Nihonga Painting #12

This painting was made using the traditional Japanese mineral pigment painting methods. It’s a labor intensive process that involves making water based paints, binders, and glue using natural materials. Mineral/earth/ochre/oxide pigments, and indigo, all play their part in this finely veiled, multi layered painting created on a hardwood cradled panel. Signed on the back, wired and ready to hang.
