Pony Boy

Daniel Slack crafted this extraordinary pony from hand-modeled stoneware clay; its filigreed base is slab-built stoneware. Once he built the piece to his liking, he cut it in half and hollowed it out before adding ten coats of base glaze topped with a metallic oxide wash. The flow of the glazes and washes are evident thanks to Slack firing this work in the kiln on an angle. Truly one-of-a-kind.
