Purple Heart Juniper Vase

This vase is carved from Purple Heart Juniper using a chainsaw and grinders. Starting from a log, the chainsaw first roughs out the shaping, then grinders finish up. Various shapes, sizes and colors of Dichroic Glass were inlaid into the large voids while the smaller cracks were inlaid with Multi Stone (turquoise, sugalite, coral, melon, malachite, lapis). It stands on a black acrylic base. Purple Heart Juniper is a hard to find wood in the mountains of New Mexico, and usually doesn't grow very large. The color variations between the purple and blonde colors is very striking, and adding the glass with all the colors, makes it a beautiful addition to any decor. Dims 12"T x 8"W x 8"D
