Segmented Chitons
These pieces are press-molded and carved. Each piece is painted with multiple coats of black slip, then decorated using the sgrafitto technique, which involves carving through the slip, revealing the white clay body. There is no right way to display these pieces, can be installed based entirely on the space and imagination. Sold as a set of 11 as shown.
